Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal has assured of prompt resolution of the pending general and project agreements of AIN members. "We will try to resolve the issue from bottom but also from up if necessary, " sanews_id the Prime Minister to AIN delegates who met him yesterday at his office in Singha Durbar seeking his intervention to resolve the matter.

A sharing and planning workshop on Multi Lingual Education (MLE) was organized in Lalitpur yesterday. The workshop aimed to help participants understand and internalize linguistic diversity through scaling up MLE intervention appropriately.

The participants of the multi-stakeholders interaction program on 'Expanding Space for Development: Role of Key Stakeholders' stressed on stronger and closer coordination of INGOs with the government as well as making one door policy more effective. Dr. Chhewang Sherpa, Member Secretary of the Social Welfare Council (SWC), who was present in the interaction sanews_id, 'In policy, there is one door. But in practice it is not.' He also sanews_id that there was lack of adequate resource in SWC to carry out its responsibilities.

The AIN General Assembly held today elected six new members for the Steering Committee (SC). The newly elected SC members are Mark Galpin, Rebecca Crozier, Lex Cassenberg, Sangita Nirola, Deepak Raj Sapkota and Simon Lewis. They are from United Mission to Nepal (UMN), International Alert, CARE Nepal, International Relief and Development (IRD), Karuna Foundation and Adventist

AIN Health Working Group Members Om Pd Gautam, Netra Pd Bhatta, Dr. Tekendra Karki and Reshma Shrestha had a meeting with Honorable Health Minister Shakti Bahadur Basnet. Also present in the meeting were Honorable State Minister Dharmashila Chapagai and Planning Chief of MoHP Dr. B.K Subedi. During the meeting a brief introduction about AIN, its membership and various thematic groups were made along with the Health Working Group and its effort towards building strategic relation and support towards NHSP II.

SC Delegates met Minister of Local Development Hon. Urmila Aryal at her office today to discuss the district consultation-approval process. The Minister agreed to discuss the issue further in a joint meeting, comprising representatives of NGO Federation and AIN.

AIN celebrated its 15 years anniversary on 15th September, amnews_id audience of AIN members and representatives of European Union, UNDP, EU Delegation, NGO federation, DFnews_id, UNICEF and Social Welfare Council (SWC). The theme for the 15th Anniversary celebration was 'Synergy for Development, Snews_ide by Snews_ide: Year by Year'. The Master of Ceremony for the celebration evening was AIN Program Coordinator, Reshma Shrestha.
