AIN is committed to promote good governance within the member organizations and in its' partner NGOs. To achieve this goal AIN has developed "AIN Recommended INGO-NGO Partnership Guidelines for Working in Nepal" which outlines guiding principles and basic partnering principles that are based on organizational development and good governance. AIN has also developed the indicators based on the recommended partnership guidelines to see the use of the partnership guidelines by I/NGO.

Following the approval of the AIN partnership guidelines, In 2005 AIN formed a working group that responsible for the disseminating and promoting the AIN partnership guideline to the different stakeholders (NGOs, INGOs, Government, Donors and Private sector institutions).

In 2006 AIN working group for capacity building with NGOs started to work to support the AIN members' implementation of the guidelines. The working group in its first year of the program worked to develop consistency and uniformity on the use of the guidelines maintain website of the capacity building resources, collect case studies raised and broaden outlook of the guidelines with bi-lateral donors and NGO networks in Nepal.

Objectives of the capacity building working group are:
  • To create an enabling environment for the implementation of AIN principles and practices in INGOs and NGOs.
  • To raise awareness about AIN guidelines so INGOs and NGOs are actively using them.
  • To advocate with NGO networks and relevant government institutions and donors on INGO and NGO good governance and its application.
MS Nepal, Action Aid Nepal, CARE Nepal, World Vision, ADRA, Save the Children, UMN, VSO, CCS Italy and CWS are the members of the working group.
  • To raise awareness about AIN guidelines so INGOs and NGOs are actively using them.
  • To advocate with NGO networks and relevant government institutions and donors on INGO and NGO good governance and its application.
