Rachel has 18 years’ experience in global development and has served as CARE’s Country Director in Nepal since July 2020. Prior to Nepal, she spent two years in Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh, as World Vision’s Senior Response Director, managing a $60 million annual relief and development program funded by several UN agencies and bilateral donors. Rachel was elected to serve as Steering Committee Co-Chair for the Cox’s Bazar NGO Platform (local, national, and INGOs). She was also elected twice to the separate INGO Forum in Cox. Rachel honed her government and donor relations expertise in post-famine Somalia, where she served as Deputy Chief of Party for the Somalia Resilience Program (SomReP)—an $80 million consortium funded by a dozen different donors, and operating across the country. Together with SomReP members CARE, WVI, Oxfam, DRC, ADRA, ACF, and Coopi, Rachel designed and built the innovative consortium from the ground up. A holistic and collaborative leader, Rachel has also held senior roles
in PSEA / safeguarding, emergency response leadership at HQ, media relations,
and nonprofit boards. |
