Work Experience: |
Bhagawan Shrestha is a public health professional with around 25 years
(including 10 years in senior management and leadership positions) of
experience in public health particularly HIV prevention, care, and treatment,
family planning (FP), nutrition and antimicrobial resistance (AMR)
surveillance system strengthening program management, health
promotion/communication/education and capacity building. He is currently
serving as Country Director for FHI 360 Nepal where he is responsible for
overall leadership, management, administration and operations of FHI 360
Nepal country office, portfolios, program, technical and financial resources,
monitoring and evaluation, research and surveillance as well as technical
assistance to government and non-government agencies. He has successfully
managed pilot studies and scale-up of innovative solutions including HIV
self-testing, HIV pre-exposure prophylaxis, online-to-offline interventions
for risk assessment, service booking, and feedback mechanisms in Nepal. He is
also leading and managing COVID-19 emergency response to mitigate COVID-19
transmission, morbidity, and mortality, as well as to strengthen the
resilience of Nepal’s health system to prevent, detect and respond to the
current and future pandemics. He is striving for locally-led development,
diversity, equity, inclusion and accessibility. |
