Workshop on Capacity Building of Frontline staff on Education Policy Organized
On 24th June, 2012 AIN Education Working Group (EWG) organized a workshop with the objective of building capacity of AIN members' front line staff on the existing Government's policy and practices, School Sector Reform Plan (SSRP) and news_identify the advocacy agenda as way forward, particularly on basic education, Early Childhood Education and Development (ECED) and Disability Education issues.
AIN Steering Committee Member and Country Director of UMN Mark Galpin, delivering his opening remarks welcomed all the participants, and stressed on the contributions of INGOs in education sector in Nepal.
Bhola Dahal from the Finish Embassy, Jay Lamsal from Department of Education and Prof. Dr. Kishore Shrestha from Centre for Research and Educational Innovation and Development (CERnews_id) were resource persons in the workshop. Bhola Dahal pointed on the need to increase the representation of INGOs on policy reform.
EWG Coordinator Kshitij Raj Prasai from UMN shared about Multi-Lingual Education learning from a workshop he attended in Thailand. Kedar Tamang, Co-Coordinator of EWG from German Nepalese Help Association (GNHA) closed the workshop with reflection of the day.
20 participants from AIN members participated in the workshop. The workshop was conducted at UMN in collaboration with AIN member World Vision International Nepal (WIVIN).
