AIN, the Association of International INGOs in Nepal expresses its deepest condolences to the bereaved families and victims of the recent flooding and landslnews_ides. At this hour of grief, we would like to inform that we have been extending our continuous relief support through our partner organizations at local level.
In this regard on behalf of its Members, AIN donates 500,000 Rupees (Five lakh rupees) to the Honorable Prime Minister Sushil Koirala for the Prime Minister Disaster Relief Fund on 5 September 2014. This is in addition to the direct contributions worth 12,79,13,332.00 (Twelve crore seventy nine lakh thirteen thousand three hundred thirty two rupees) made by Member INGOs in relief packages, food items, clothes, nonfood relief items, water, sanitation and hygiene materials, school kits, medicines etc. in the affected districts through implementing partners. We are pleased to notify that our humanitarian support has increased as per needs.
To minimize duplication of support, such relief has been distributed in close coordination with the District Disaster Relief Committees. Apart from this emergency humanitarian relief support, AIN Members have been implementing regular projects that have proven to be beneficial to local communities who are prone to such disasters.
We would like to inform that AIN Members are always committed to support and humbly calls upon all the stakeholders to be involved in supporting the victims for recovery.
