An Appeal for Inclusive and Accessible Humanitarian Assistance
In this hour of grief the
Association of International NGOs in Nepal (AIN), the umbrella network of 116
INGOs, extends it heartfelt condolences to the quake stricken victims who have lost
their families, friends and homes. AIN Member INGOs are making continued
humanitarian effort by provnews_iding relief assistance to ensure that more lives
are saved and suffering reduced. AIN Members pledge to make every effort in the
most effective, inclusive and accountable way to extend support to the most
affected people at this very hour of despair.
The AIN Disability Working Group
(DWG) would like to strongly appeal and urge ALL Humanitarian Actors and Relief workers to address the need of the people
with specific needs i.e. of disability and aging. People with disabilities have
been worst hit by the quake and have left a devastating long-term impact on
them. Let us ensure that anews_id delivery is prioritized based on the levels of
vulnerability and needs of the affected people with disabilities in line with
humanitarian principles.
Our relief actions would not be
complete and meaningful if we exclude a single person with disability. So let us make a meaningful contribution by
saying YES to people with disability and ensure to make our relief work impartial,
inclusive and accessible.
Let us promise to mainstream DISABILITY in our broader
Humanitarian agenda!
