Work Experience: |
Vera Exnerova, Country Director for People in Need (PIN) Nepal, and a
mother of two moved to Kathmandu in 2020 to work in the country after working
as a PIN Regional Director for Asia for four years. Exnerova has over 22
years of management and research experience specializing in Asia, working
both as humanitarian aid and development professional, and an expert on
Central Asia and Afghanistan. Exnerova previously worked with PIN as Regional Director for Asia
managing a portfolio of seven countries (Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Cambodia,
Mongolia, Myanmar, Nepal, and the Philippines), Country Director for
Afghanistan, Director of Media Department, Development Awareness Programme
Manager as well as Manager of the largest global documentary human rights
film festival ‘One World’. She holds a Ph.D. from Charles University and was
a Fulbright-Masaryk fellow at Harvard University and a visiting fellow at
Institut Français d’Etudes sur l’Asie Centrale, holding positions of Research
Fellow at the Institute of International Relations and at the Oriental
Institute of the Czech Academy of Sciences between 2009 and 2020. Above and beyond, she is a civil society enthusiast, actively involved
in the public life of the community, and believes in people-centered
development. Besides, Exnerova annually organizes the music and art festival
Eastern Tunes in the Czech Republic. |
